This is real life. The truth is, I'm not that great at it. But this is it, and it is my life. You want me to post pictures of what I wear every day? You'd have a collaboration of different yoga pants, and oversized t-shirts--some worn multiple days in a row {cringe}! You want to know my toddler lunch meal ideas? They often vary between dino nuggets, pb&j, or ravioli--but hey, at least it's the frozen kind and not Chef Boyardee...although that has made a few appearances! You want pictures of my home decor? Well my house is usually a mess. There are dishes in the sink and laundry to be put away. Most days, with my two crazy sidekicks calling the shots, I don't have time to shower, and rarely even do my hair {am I really admitting this in a public forum?!}! But this is life, and it is my life. And I'm lucky enough to get to share it with an amazing husband and the 3 cutest kids in the world, so no matter how you look it, I'm the luckiest!

"My Little Girl"

by Jack Johnson

Hey, Little Girl,
Look what you've done.
You've gone and stolen my heart and made it your own.
You stole my heart and made it your own.
Hey, Little Girl...

I took Melia's 9 month photos the other day in Mike's parents' yard.  Their yard is absolutely beautiful and together with my beautiful baby girl--I think it turned out pretty well!

(Okay, so this one wasn't really part of the shoot, but before we went outside she was sitting on the floor just looking so cute, so I had to snap a shot.)

"Mary, Mary, Quite Contrary"

From Tommy Thumb's Pretty Songbook (c. 1744)

Mary, Mary, quite contrary,
How does your garden grow?
With silver bells, and cockle shells,
And pretty maids all in a row.

One of my close friends, Krystal just had a baby on Sunday morning.  Her name is Mary and I had the opportunity to meet her today and take some newborn pictures of her.  We thought she would sleep through the whole thing and I was excited to get some sweet naked sleeping angel pictures of her, but she decided to be bright-eyed pretty much the whole time.  Only when we were done (and she was fully dressed again) did she fall back to sleep.  So I had to steal some cute sleeping pics of her in her PJ's too.  :)  She is so beautiful and it was so much fun to take her picture!  I was also able to get some with her beautiful mommy who looks amazing, and Mary's big sister Ellie woke up from her nap right at the end of shooting so we got a sweet one with her too.  I cannot wait to watch her grow up.  It is crazy to think that she and Melia will be the same grade in school--she seems sooo tiny and young!  Here are a few pics from our shoot:

"Let Them Be Little"

By Lonestar

I can remember when you fit in the palm of my hand;
You felt so good in it, no bigger than a minute.
How it amazes me, you're changing with every blink.
Faster than a flower blooms, they grow up all too soon,
So let them be little, cause they're only that way for a while...

I've been meaning to post these pictures FOREVER and just have never gotten around to it.  Now, 5 months later, I'm finally doing it.  These were Melia's 3 month photos.  I cannot even believe how much she has already changed.  It makes me so sad to realize how fast she is growing up.  She already has two little teeth and is almost crawling.  She can get from one place to another pretty fast and it amazes me how independent she is getting!  She's eating all sorts of fruits and vegetables and even chicken!  She loves Cheerios and goes crazy for grapes in her mesh teether where she can pretty much just gum them to death with her little mouth.  She also loves cantaloupe in there too.  I think her favorite veggie is green beans which is funny cause that's the one veggie I've always hated!  She loves to drink apple juice, prune juice, and Pedialyte--although none of those, nor anything else, can compare to Mommy's milk.  I don't know if I'll ever be able to wean this little girl--she's addicted!  :)  To her, Mommy's milk could solve the world's problems.  All the Cheerios in the world could not take its place!  :)

At any rate, I am getting off the topic here.  Back to the pictures...  My friend Aubrey posted some adorable pictures of her little girl Jayda on her blog and I loved them.  She had said she did them herself so I told her I wanted to have her help to do some for Melia.  I think they turned out great.  I took all the ones of Melia alone except the absolutely perfect one that is also the header for the blog.  Aubrey took that one (the first one below), and all the ones of me and Melia together.  I love them all!  Leave a comment and let me know which one is your favorite!  I just cannot decide.  I cannot believe it's taken me this long to post them, but with no further ado--here are Melia's 3 month photos (now that she's 8 months old)!

Little Nieces

I did a couple of photo shoots with some of my nieces and I love the pictures! Keep in mind my computer sucks and I do not have the ability to edit the pictures at all so they're not "touched up" and beautiful, but I still love these pictures. These girls are adorable. There are a lot of photos but I just couldn't resist posting them.

First I shot pictures of my niece Vienna a couple of months ago when she was 6 months old. She is wearing her blessing dress. They wanted to wait to take the pictures of her in it until she could sit up on her own. :) Isn't she so stinkin cute?
I also got to shoot some pictures of my cute nieces Hailey and Aubrey up the Lagoon Trail. I adore these little girls, they're so much fun.
