A darling tiny mite,
And when I smile, she smiles right back
And holds my finger tight.
She's telling me she loves me,
In that cute baby way,
And saying that it won't be long,
'Til we can play all day.
Spencer is an amazing older brother. I'll admit, when Melia was first born I think he was a little jealous. But he really really loves his little sister and he is so amazing with her. He always tells her how she's the cutest little baby or the prettiest little girl. It's so sweet. He loves to carry her around the house and when she's sad he always comes and talks with her and tries to make her happy. Here are a couple pictures of Spencer playing with Lia.

The other day Spencer went downstairs and came back with this cute "Alice the Fairy" book. He told me he wanted to read it to Melia. All on his own he sat down by her in her little chair and read her this cute little book, and she was really into it and kept reaching out for the pictures and listened intently as he read the whole book. When he finished I told him that was the first time anyone had ever read her a book. He was pretty excited about that and went back downstairs and got a whole stack of books to read to her. He read all of them and then told me he wanted to keep them in her room instead of downstairs so he could read them to her a lot. He really is the best big brother, Melia is so lucky!
He even got a solo in "Seize the Day" at their last choir performance. He did a great job. I love his little voice.

He and his brother and his mom just moved to a new house that is a little closer to our house and is luckily out of the WV! He used to live in a duplex in WV, pretty much the most dangerous city in the state, and now they own their own house. He gets his own room and their house seems to be in a great neighborhood and ward. He lives really close to the elementary school and the church. His current elementary school is rated pretty poorly and is really just not in the greatest part of town. He is finishing out the school year there but then will be going to his new school next year. It is one of the top 5 elementary schools in the state and his high school is in the top 10. We're really excited for this improvement and know that he'll excel. He's already pretty much the top of his class and I am sure being in a better school will help him grow even more intellectually! He is such a smart boy!
